PASSWORD LESS SIGN IN AND MULTI A/C LOGIN IN EASYECOM

We have now rolled out an option to sign in to EasyEcom without using your password via Google and Microsoft Authentication.

WHAT IS PASSWORD LESS SIGN IN?
- Password less authentication is a means to verify a user's identity, without using a password. Instead, password less uses more secure alternatives like possession factors (one-time passwords [OTP], registered smartphones), or biometrics (fingerprint, retina scans or Google/Microsoft email domain authentication.

ADVANTAGES OF PASSWORD LESS SIGN IN:
Passwordless sign-in has several advantages over traditional password-based authentication methods. Here are some key advantages:

Improved security: Passwords can be weak, easily guessed, or stolen through various means such as phishing attacks or data breaches. Passwordless sign-in eliminates the reliance on passwords, reducing the risk of unauthorized access due to weak or compromised passwords.

Convenience: Passwords can be difficult to remember, leading users to choose weak passwords or reuse them across multiple accounts. Passwordless sign-in eliminates the need for users to remember and manage passwords, making the authentication process more convenient.

Stronger authentication methods: Passwordless sign-in often leverages stronger authentication methods, such as biometrics (fingerprint, facial recognition) or email domain authentication. These methods are generally more secure than traditional passwords, providing an extra layer of protection.

Reduces password-related issues: With passwordless sign-in, users no longer face issues like forgotten passwords, password reset requests, or account lockouts due to multiple failed login attempts. This reduces support costs and enhances the user experience.

Mitigates credential stuffing attacks: Password reuse is a common practice among users, which can make them vulnerable to credential stuffing attacks where attackers use stolen credentials from one service to gain unauthorized access to other accounts. Passwordless sign-in reduces the risk of such attacks as there are no passwords to steal and reuse.

Future-proofing: Passwords are considered an outdated authentication method. As technology advances, passwordless authentication provides a foundation for adopting more advanced and secure authentication methods in the future, such as multi-factor authentication and continuous authentication.

HOW TO USE PASSWORD LESS SIGN IN OPTION IN EASYECOM?
  1. User can navigate to login page of EasyEcom and in the login page along with traditional sign in option, two more option have been introduced namely 'Sign in with Google' and 'Sign in with Microsoft'
  2. Using any of these option, user will be re-directed to authentication page of Google/Microsoft where he/she will be asked to login using his email ID.
  3. Once logged in, EasyEcom will grant an access if his/her account is present in EasyEcom.
**Email ID will be auto-verified, if user logs in to EasyEcom using Google or Microsoft.



MULTI A/C LOGIN SUPPORT:

EasyEcom now allows user to have user access to multiple locations/accounts using same email ID. For using this-
  1. An User access for the user needs to be created by the vendor admin from the users setting page in EasyEcom.
  2. Once the access have been created, an email invite will be sent to user's email ID.
  3. If an user uses Google/Microsoft login then it case email will be auto-verified in case of traditional login, a email ID needs to be verified via verification link sent from EasyEco to user's email ID.
  4. Once logged in, user will be shown all the location name in list view in which his/her access is created.
  5. User can choose to sign in in any one of the account from the list view. Please refer to the sample snippet below.
