Feature Description
The Cancellation Put-Away feature handles the systematic reintegration of inventory that was picked for orders but later got cancelled before dispatch. When an order is cancelled post-picking but before shipping, the reserved stock becomes available again and needs to be physically returned to storage.
Putaway can be done using both web and Android devices. In this article, we will discuss how to use the putaway feature on using Android device.
Use Case
Scenario:
An e-commerce seller receives a bulk order for 50 mobile phone cases. The warehouse team picks and packs the items, but before the order is dispatched, the customer cancels it.
How the Cancellation Put-Away Feature Helps:
Order Cancelled Post-Picking:
Since the items were already picked and removed from their original bins, they now exist in a temporary staging area with inventory status marked as “allocated” or “reserved.”
Cancellation Detected:
Once the order cancellation is recorded in the system, those items are flagged for Cancellation Put-Away.
Put-Away Triggered:
The warehouse staff is prompted to return the cancelled inventory to its original or system-suggested bins using the Cancellation Put-Away workflow.
Bin Guidance Provided:
The WMS (Warehouse Management System) displays the recommended bin locations based on SKU and stock levels, ensuring efficient redistribution of the inventory.
Real-Time Stock Update:
As items are scanned back into bins, the system instantly updates stock levels, making the products available for resale across all sales channels.
Required Settings for this feature to work
Settings to be done from the backend
1. "continuousPutAwaySetting": 1
This setting will enable the continuous scan mode for serialized accounts
2. "DirectedBinSuggestion":"1"
This setting will enable the Bin Suggestion for Putaway
Please contact the Easyecom Support Team to enable the Continuous Scan mode.
Cancellation Putaway Flowchart
Workflow
Step 1: Go to android > For putaway > Cancellation Putaway
Step 2: Select the Cancelled orders you wish to complete the putaway of
For Non- Serialized Account
Step 1: Scan SKU/EAN/QR
Step 2: After the SKU is scanned,
If the Bin suggestion is ON, the system will directly route you to the Batch Selection Page and then ask you to scan the Bin
Click "Next".
Step 3: Scan the Bin
Once the bin is scanned, the cancellation putaway will be instantly completed.
If the Bin suggestion is OFF, the system will ask you to scan the Bin first and then route you to the Batch Selection Page.
Step 3: Scan the Bin
Select the Batch Code, Quantity and slide right to complete the Putaway
Once the details are entered, the cancellation putaway will be completed.
Serialized Account (with Continuous Scan)
For serialized accounts, continuous scanning will be turned on if the feature is enabled at the backend.
This functionality enables you to consecutively scan all serials designated for placement in a single bin.
Step 2: Scan the Serial
Step 3: After the serial is scanned, the cancellation putaway will instantly complete.
Serialized Account (without Continuous Scan)
Step 1: Scan the Serial

If the Bin Suggestion setting is ON -
If the Bin Suggestion setting is OFF
Step 3: Once the bin is scanned, the cancellation putaway will instantly complete.
