How to Process Order with Digital Product?

Feature description
EasyEcom allows you to create orders that include digital products. There are two ways to add digital products to an order:
Single Digital Product: An order can consist solely of a digital product.
Digital Product with Physical Products: Digital products can also be added alongside physical products within the same order.
This flexibility allows you to cater to a wider range of sales scenarios within your online store.
Before using digital SKUs in orders, kindly contact our Easyecom support team to enable the order assignment setting from the backend.
How to manage an order having standalone digital product
Create an order that consists of digital product
As soon as the order gets created, the status of the order will become “Shipped” and invoice number will be generated automatically.
How to manage an order having one Digital SKU and one Physical SKU
Step 1- Create an order that consists of one digital product and one physical product
Step 2- Go to Order Batches (main menu) > Create a Batch
Step 3- Once the batch is created, Add the order to the batch and print the picklist.
Step 4- Confirm the order. Once the order is in the “Print” tab. Click on “Packing Station”
Once you move to the Packing Station Page, it will only ask you to scan the Physical SKU as Digital Product are not allowed for the packing station as they will not be scanned. However, the digital SKU will still be visible on the invoice.
Scan the SKU and complete the order processing.
Note:
- A digital SKU will be shown in the invoice and the label
- Shipping charges will not be applied on the orders having digital SKU. If an order contains both physical and digital products, then the shipping charges would be added proportionately on the physical SKU only
- Digital Product will be taxable and the tax amount will be visible on the invoice
- Digital Product will be shown in all the OMS reports to track sales and orders
- At the time of order creation, the suborder status of Digital SKU will be the same as the suborder status of physical SKU
- An order can only be split if it contains more than 1 physical SKUs. Digital SKUs must remain with at least one physical SKU in the original order.
- Digital orders can only be processed if the order routing is specified at the order level
Inventory Management of Digital Product
- Purchase Order or Auto GRN cannot be cannot be created for Digital Products as it does not hold any inventory
- In the “Manage Inventory” tab, these SKUs will be labeled as Digital SKU but the quantity tab will be hidden
Returns Management of Digital Product
- While creating a return of a digital SKU, the user will not get the option to initiate a return, can directly mark it as "returned."
- A credit note will be generated for the Digital SKU
If an order includes both physical and digital SKUs:
- Physical SKU Return: The status will remain returned if the physical SKU is returned. However, the status of the digital SKU will remain "shipped."
- Digital SKU Return: If the digital SKU is returned, the physical SKU status will remain "shipped," but the digital SKU will be directly marked as "returned."
Cancellation of Digital Product
- In case of the cancellation of an order with a digital product, no putaway process will be triggered.

- How can I track the orders that contain digital products?
Digital products will be identified and tracked within all the OMS reports.
- Will digital SKUs appear on the invoice and the label?
Yes, digital SKUs will be shown on both the invoice and the label.
- Can I split an order that contains both physical and digital SKUs?
An order can only be split if it contains more than one physical SKU. Digital SKUs must remain with at least one physical SKU in the original order.
- Are digital products taxable, and how will the tax be displayed?
Yes, digital products are taxable. The tax amount will be visible on the invoice.
- What will be the suborder status of digital SKUs at the time of order creation?
At the time of order creation, the suborder status of digital SKUs will be the same as the suborder status of physical SKUs.
