Setting up taxation for your B2B and B2C Sales (New Module)

Maintaining accounts for tax purposes is a difficult process for any organization. 

EasyEcom’s Tax Master makes this process easier for you by defining the tax rules which will be applicable for your product items. 


Tax can be set in EasyEcom

  1. HSN Wise

  2. Non- HSN Wise

Creating Tax rules 

To create the Tax Rules in EasyEcom, follow these steps mentioned below:

Step 1 :  In the toggle menu, navigate to Masters >> Tax Master



Step 2 : Choose Tax Rule Type as HSN or Non- HSN

Once you click on Tax Master, you will be navigated to the following page:



Click on the “Choose Tax Rule Type” dropdown.



Once you click on it, following drop down will appear:



Choose HSN Wise or Non- HSN Wise from the dropdown.


Once you click on HSN Wise or Non-HSN Wise Rule Type from the dropdown, the screen will expand as shown in the image below:



Step 3 : Enter HSN Code




Step 4 : Select whether the tax will be calculated on Unit Price or Selling Price of the product




Step 5 : Enter the Min and Max Value of the price for the tax rule



Step 6 : Select the GST Tax Rate for the price range entered





Step 7 : Add Tax Rate for next price range, if required

Once you enter all the details, click on “Add Tax Rate” button for adding the next subsequent price range in the Tax Rule



Once you click on the “Add Tax Rate” button, another row will be added



Please note, Min Value will be automatically set equal to the Max Value of the previous price range.

You can Delete the current tax rate or add the next subsequent tax rate in the Tax Rule.


Step 8 : Submit the Tax Rule

Once you have entered all the tax rates for the Tax Rule, click on Submit Button



Please note,

  1. If tax on a product is uniform, irrespective of the price range, you can leave the Max Value blank. The tax rate set will be applied on all prices of that product.
    For example:



  1. If you have not set the upper limit for a tax range, products beyond the last price will be considered in the last bracket. Please either set another slab for products beyond that price or proceed with the last slab as the slab for those products.



Update Tax Rule and CESS on new products


Once you have created your Tax Rule, you can select this Tax Rule for the new products from the Product Master Page.


Follow the steps mentioned below to do the same:

Step 1 : From the toggle menu, navigate to Masters >> Product Master


Once you click on it, you will be navigated to the following page:



Step 2 : Click on Create Products and choose Add a new Product



Once you click on it, you will be navigated to the following page:


Step 3 : Enter the required details of the product

Enter the required details of the product.


Select the tax rule from “Predefined Tax Rule” dropdown and enter CESS.

Please note, the accepted formats for the CESS are like 3 , 5 , 10 , 20 etc.



Step 4 : Save Product 

Once you have entered all the details, click on “Save Product”




You can also enter the Tax Rule and CESS while creating products in bulk by uploading a csv. Follow the steps mentioned below to do the same:


From the “Create Products” dropdown on the Product Master page, click on Upload csv option.




Once you click on it, following pop up will appear



Download Sample CSV.



In the CSV format, enter Product Tax Rule and CESS along with other required details of the new product.




Please note, you will have to check the Product Tax Rule name from Tax Master to enter here.
The accepted formats for the CESS are like 3 , 5 , 10 , 20 etc.


Once all the required details are entered, save the csv file and choose the file from below option:



Once the file is chosen, click on Submit Button.



Update Tax Rule and CESS on an existing product

From the Product Master page, click on the SKU ID.


Once you click on it, following page will open:


You can update the Tax Rule from the dropdown options available and enter CESS value. Once all the details are updated, click on the Update button.



Please note,

The updated Tax Rule would be applicable on any new orders with that product and not on any existing orders.


You can also update the Tax Rule in bulk through sheet upload.


Download the Products sheet from the following link:



The Download Job will be queued.

You can check the status of Exports as follows:


Once the download job is Finished, click on the file link and open the saved file.



In the file, update the Product Tax Rule Name and CESS, save the file and upload as follows:


Click on Update Products from Product Master page.



Click on Choose File and choose the file from your system.



Once the file is chosen, click on the Submit button from the pop up.


Updated details will be applied on any new orders with that product.
