Overview

PutAway is the process of assigning inventory to a storage bin after it is received or generated in the warehouse. It helps organize inventory within the warehouse by updating its physical storage location.

Inventory becomes available for PutAway after one of the following warehouse operations is completed:

  • Goods Receipt Note (GRN)
  • Return processing
  • Order cancellation
  • Production
  • Dekit

The inventory is assigned to the selected bin and no longer appears in the PutAway queue.

Bulk PutAway is also supported, allowing users to assign bins for multiple inventory records using a CSV file.

When to Use

Use PutAway when you need to:

  • Assign received inventory to warehouse bins.
  • Complete shelving after GRN when PutAway was deferred.
  • Store inventory received through completed returns.
  • Store inventory received from cancelled orders after invoice generation.
  • Store inventory generated through Production.
  • Store inventory generated through Dekit.
  • Perform bulk bin assignment using a CSV file.

Before performing PutAway, ensure that:

  • Warehouse Zones, Shelves, and Bins are configured.
  • The destination Bin exists.
  • Inventory is pending PutAway.
  • If applicable, Quality Check has been completed.
