Overview

Prefetch Settings allows fetching in advance the invoices and shipping labels for marketplace orders, reducing processing delays and supporting SLA adherence.

Prefetch execution is controlled using day-wise scheduling with defined time slots and holiday handling.

Label Generation Timing

Standard Behavior: Labels are generated after the user confirms the physical picking process.
Prefetch Settings Behavior: Invoices and labels are generated in advance, before order confirmation.

Use Case

Scenario:
An e-commerce platform integrates with multiple marketplaces (e.g., Amazon, Flipkart) to expand its reach and sales. However, some marketplaces have longer processing times for generating invoices and shipping labels, which can delay order fulfilment and negatively impact customer satisfaction.   

Problem:
  1. Delayed Order Processing: A slower generation of invoices and labels can lead to delays in order processing and shipping.
  2. Missed SLAs: Delayed order fulfilment can result in missed service level agreements (SLAs) with customers.
  3. Reduced Customer Satisfaction: Late shipments and delivery delays can negatively impact customer satisfaction and brand reputation.   
Solution:
By implementing Prefetch Settings, the e-commerce platform can proactively fetch invoices and shipping labels for orders placed on these marketplaces, significantly reducing processing time and improving overall efficiency.

When to Use This Feature

  • When invoice or label generation causes delays impacting SLA timelines
  • When operations run in defined working hours

Workflow

Step 1:  Go to Account Settings > Other Settings




Step 2:  Select Prefetch Settings


Step 3: Select Marketplace

InfoUse Eraser to remove the entire prefetch configuration for the selected marketplace and SLA.

Step 4:  Select SLA

  • Same Day → applies to same-day orders
  • Same Day + Next Day → applies to current and next day orders


  • Step 5: Enable or disable Prefetch for the selected marketplace

    Use the toggle available for the marketplace

    • Enabled → Prefetch is active for this marketplace
    • Disabled → Prefetch will not run for this marketplace

    Step 6: Click Configure


    Step 7: Configure day-wise timings

    • Select a day (Monday–Sunday)
    • Enable/disable the day
    • Expand the day to configure timings
    • Holiday settings can be configured from the same screen (right-side section)


    Step 8: Add time slots

    • Enter Start Time and End Time
    • Add multiple time slots if required
    • Use “Copy above timings to all days” if needed. This option copies the configured timings of the current day to all days


    Step 9: Click Update Settings

    InfoUse + New MP to configure additional marketplaces

    Day-wise Prefetch Scheduling

    • Prefetch timings are configured per day (Monday–Sunday)
    • Each day can be enabled or disabled independently
    • Multiple time slots can be defined per day
    • Prefetch runs only within configured time slots

    Holiday Handling

    • Prefetch is disabled on national holidays by default
    • Users can enable prefetch for specific holidays if required 

    Prefetch Execution Logic

    Prefetch runs only when:

    • The day is enabled
    • At least one valid time slot is configured
    • Current time falls within a configured time slot
    • Prefetch execution is restricted to configured time slots only

    Prefetch does not run when:

    • The day is disabled
    • No time slots are configured
    • Current time is outside configured slots
    • It is a national holiday (unless enabled manually) 

    System Validation Rules

    • Time ranges should not overlap
    • Start time must be earlier than end time
    • At least one time range is required to enable a day
