How to Configure GRN Screen

How to Configure GRN Screen

Introduction
To run efficiently, warehouse operations must start with an organized receiving process. Upon receiving, the SKUs/items are collected and stored based on certain criteria/parameters like pricing, manufacturing date, expiry date, etc. that help later in inventory movement. This grouping/batch creation is called lot(s) creation.
The process defined to configure the lots is called GRN screen configuration or Lot Configuration. As per the requirements, user can predefine the lottable labels that can be set in the system under GRN screen configuration.

Steps to Configure GRN Screen
  1. Step 1: In the toggle menu, navigate to Inventory>>GRN Configuration
  2. Step 2: Click on "Create GRN Screen Configuration"

  3.    Step 3: Give a name to the configuration and select categories from the given dropdown (multiple categories can be selected at once)
    1. Categories can be searched by entering initials in the search bar (shown in the snapshot below)
  4. Step 4: Click next to choose the lottable and non-lottable fields that need to be entered during GRN of particular categories.
    1. Lottables - In GRN screen, on entering Batch code, system will auto-populate other Lottables if lottable data for that batch exists.
    2. Non-Lottables - In GRN screen, on entering Batch code, system will not auto-populate other Non-Lottables

  5. You may add the Manufacturing or the Expiry Date in the following formats:
    1. YYYY-MM-DD
    2. YYYY-MM
      1. First of the month (the system will take the date as 1st of the given month)
      2. Last of the month (the system will take the date as 30th or 31st of the given month)

Alert
Once the GRN screen is configured, the lottable fields become non-editable. However, it is still possible to edit the character limit and validations. On the other hand, non-lottable fields remain editable and can be un-selected even after the configuration is completed.
  1. Step 5: Click on "Create" to complete the configuration.
Before finalizing the configuration, ensure the following:
  1. Fill in the validations and limits for the selected fields.
  2. The category included in the configuration should be free of any existing inventory.
Post-configuration, you can view the configured lots within a specific date range. Additionally, you can search for specific lots by entering the lot name in the search bar.

The following fields will be visible on the screen
