Bin Suggestion for PutAway
Put away bin suggestion functionality aids in the efficient organization of inventory by suggesting the ideal location (bin) to store returned and canceled SKUs/items/products received in the warehouse.
How does the Putaway bin suggestion work?
1) Count-wise bin capacity- The system will check all the bins where the SKU is kept, and then create an array/set of bins. Then the bin with the most compatible space as per the putaway quantity is selected and displayed as a suggestion on the screen.
For eg: Putaway SKU- TEST001, Putaway Quantity- 30

Test001 | A002 | 30 |
Here, bin A002 will be suggested to optimize the space.
2) Last bin/shelf- The system will check all the bins from where the SKU was picked and then suggest the most compatible bin based on the below validations.
The suggestion will also be based on-
1) Commingle validation [Commingle SKU, Commingle lot/batch (if expiry is enabled), Commingle client (for 3PL)]
2) Batch validation
3) SKU validation
4) Category Validation
5) Name of the Bin (Alphabetic/Numeric)
Note: Empty bins will only be suggested when all the considerable bins are filled.
How to set up bin suggestions for your account?
To enable bin suggestions for your account, please set the bin capacity and preferred product category for the configured bins.
Steps to set bin category and preferred product category-
Step 1- In the toggle menu, navigate to Masters>>Bins Master
Step 2- Now, you may set the bin capacity and preferred bin category either one by one or in bulk.
(i) To set the bin capacity and preferred bin category one by one, click on the "action" button given on the right-most side of the configured bin
(ii) Fill in the Bin capacity and select the Preferred bin category as per your requirement and click "Update".
Similarly, you may update these for other bins too.
(iii) To set the bin capacity and preferred bin category in bulk, click on Configure Bins.
(iv) Select Bulk Update(CSV) and Download Template
(v) Update the downloaded template in the given format
To get the preferredProductCategoryIds, please navigate to Masters>> Category master >> Download Category
Copy the category IDs from the downloaded sheet
(vi) Upload CSV and click on Complete button.
Bin capacity and preferred bin category are set for the configured bins and the bin suggestion feature is activated for the account.
How the bin suggestion feature be used on UI?
Step 1: In the toggle menu, navigate to the inventory >> Putaway
Step 2. Navigate to the section you want to put away the inventory for or want to see the suggested bins for (Returned/Cancelation) inventory.
Step 3. Click on the Bin (as highlighted in the image below)
Step 4: Enter the asterisk (*) marked details
You may click the suggested bin tag to accept the suggestion.
Step 5: Confirm
How the bin suggestion feature be used in Android app?
Step1- In the app, navigate to the putaway section>> select the type of putaway you wish to do >>scan SKU
Step 2- Select batch and quantity
Now the system will show the suggestion of bin
Step 3- Scan Bin
(If the suggested bin is not scanned then the system will give a warning that says that you have not scanned the suggested bin, please give a reason for not accepting the suggested bin and then proceed)
Note:
1. Bin suggestions will only be shown in the Put Away tab [Web & Android] for Non-Serialized Accounts and for serialized accounts bin suggestions will be shown for non-continuous bin scan(android).
2. Commingle Lot is by default enabled in auto GRN and disabled in putaway.
